Course Overview

  • Secondary Education - Adult Secondary Education (ASE) classes prepares students for college and career success through rigorous instruction and content specific in-class practice.

  • Skills Learning - ASE courses are offered in the subject areas of Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies.

  • Gain Employability Skills - Workforce preparation activities, along with digital literacy and financial literacy, are provided concurrently with ASE instruction.  Our ASE instructors provide engaging, dynamic and explicit lessons in a welcoming and motivational environment.

FACT Students

Adult Secondary Education (ASE)

ASE classes are designed to help students earn an Arkansas High School Diploma by passing the GED® Test.  Instruction is designed for students who need to improve reading, writing, and/or math skills to earn their GED®.  Reading and writing skills may be developed through the areas of science, social studies, and Reasoning through Language Arts (RLA).  Emphasis is on vocabulary development, comprehension improvement, and critical thinking.  Math reasoning focuses on math computation and math problem solving skills.

Students in ASE classes may be preparing to enroll in college, to enter the job market, or to further their careers.  Students may enroll in either open enrollment classes or managed enrollment classes.

    Optional for those who work best writing notes on paper format.

    Optional for emphasizing content in notes and study material.  The calculator model, TI-30XS, is recommended for those preparing for the GED test.  Stapler, tape, and paper clips are optional for classwork and/or organization.

  • Binders -

    Optional to organize your school material by subject(s).

  • Backpack or Carry Bag -

    Optional for those who come in-person to class on some days of the week.
