FPS middle school GT students recently hosted “Stars, Stripes, and Student Spirit”, a celebration of America’s 250th birthday, student voice, and American identity.
The large scale American flag installation, made of 250 individual pieces, toured all three FPS middle schools in one day and was presented to each student body. Each piece reflected student perspectives and created a powerful expression of what the American experience means to them.
Mayor Molly Rawn introduced the art reveal at John L Colbert Middle School, and students heard from guest speaker Tanya Mims, Arkansas 250 Commissioner. Students also participated in interactive experiences with the Arkansas Department of Education and the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art Mobile Art Lab.
It was a meaningful day of creativity, reflection, and student engagement across FPS.
