Fayetteville Public Schools Child Nutrition will offer free meal packs during the winter break, which is from December 21 through January 1. The five-day meal packs (five breakfasts and five lunches) will be available for pick up on Tuesday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 29. Fayetteville Public Schools will pivot to virtual learning on Monday, December 14 due to inclement weather and road conditions. All school buildings will be closed, and students will utilize online learning.

Congrats to the @FayettevilleHS 2019-20 soccer team for receiving the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, with a 3.88 GPA for the year! There were only 178 high school girls soccer teams to get this honor across the nation. #PurpleReign https://tinyurl.com/y5dmjxsy

Congratulations to @FayettevilleHS senior, Alice Cai, for being named a Coca-Cola Scholar Semifinalist. She was one of 1,609 students selected out of 99,403 applicants from across the country to continue through our selection process. (Just 1.6%!) #PurpleReign

FHS Model UN competed in the 55th Arkansas Model United Nations Conference, hosted by the University of Central Arkansas, on November 20 & 21. Though the conference was held virtually, our students competed together (socially distanced) in the Lecture Hall, and had a great experience practicing diplomacy. Special congratulations to Sophomore Janet Fu, who was awarded Outstanding Delegate for her representation of the Slovak Republic in the Novice General Assembly. Congratulations also to students who received Honorable Mention in their committees: Seniors Kevin Liu and Lara Akdol, Juniors Julianna Ferguson and Charlie Schach, Sophomore Jaycee Petrone, and Freshman Annie Xu.

Fayetteville High School student, South Walker, was featured in the Autism Speaks newsletter telling his story. It was published yesterday, and he now has over 10,000 followers on Instagram. Rob Paulsen, a famous voice actor for several animated shows has reached out asking to do a virtual meeting called Kindness Connections with South. Arkansas Children's Hospital has reached out wanting South to come spend 1/2 days making sculptures for their patients and be sponsored by Crayola!
